Hacker Group Anonymous Plans Their New Social Network
Posted July 20, 2011
After the hacker group Anonymous had their Google+ accounts shut down they are now planning on making their own social network called AnonPlus. According to the group the new site “will be free of fear…of censorship..or blackout for all people not just Anonymous.” At this time it is a work in progress.
The account YourAnonNews got banned from Google+ because of some of their content according to Anonymous but in actuality it may be because Google+ requires all its users to register their real names in order to join. If this new social network site does come to pass it will not be the first time a new social network as tried to get users away from other social network sites by promising greater freedom and privacy.
The hacker group Anonymous gained fame last year when it made cyber attacks against Visa, PayPal, and others in support of WikiLeaks. The group was founded to battle their ideas of perceived threats to anonymity and freedom of speech online.
